Wix, like many large platforms, handles many tasks server side, not in your browser. This includes blocking certain scripts and displaying web pages.
Services like Usercentrics CMP work by initially blocking all scripts when a site loads. They then check if the user has allowed these scripts to run, and if so, the scripts are permitted to run.
This system works well if all the scripts load when the page loads. But Wix, to be efficient, doesn’t load all scripts right away. Instead, it loads them as needed from the server side. This means that a script-blocking service like Usercentrics CMP might not catch these scripts.
To address this, Usercentrics for Wix works directly with Wix. This ensures that scripts are properly blocked by communicating directly with Wix’s servers. This way, even scripts that are loaded as needed, are properly managed.
Also, services like Usercentrics CMP will identify trackers set, but the same tracker may be used by multiple components or apps on your Wix site. Thereby blocking that tracker will block every component/app using it, which could potentially break the app unexpectedly. Usercentrics for Wix will coordinate blocking with Wix to ensure only trackers from a category not given consent to will be blocked to avoid unintentionally blocking or breaking components/apps.
Sadly, no. Usercentrics for Wix is a completely separate solution from the standard Usercentrics CMP.
Yes, you can add any available language via the Banner → Content → Language Settings option.
The language in which the banner will be displayed depends on a combination of factors, for example the browser's language preference setting.
If additonal languages besides English are added via the app, users will be presented with an icon in the top right corner of the banner, which they can use to select any of the previously added languages.
Absolutely! In the Usercentrics for Wix app, go to the Banner → Appearance tab. From there, you can adjust the banner positioning.
It sure does! The Usercentrics for Wix app will automatically send consent data via the GTAG API, so you don't have to do anything to enable this.
